10 things about me:
1.) I make a living doing my dream job - working my own hours, in my own home, as my own boss, creating art.
2.) I have three cats and a very young dog terrorizing my work space - still, part of the dream.
3.) I dropped out of high school in grade 10 and ran away from home.
4.) I returned to finish my grade 12 one year later through an adult education program and continued on to university.
5.) I love bees, which is good because we keep bees.
6.) I live in the country and in the city.
7.) This morning I got 8 new work gigs in two hours. It turned out to be somewhere around 17 projects I need to start in on. That one was a b-i-i-i-g surprise, and definitely a record for me.
8.) I'm an introvert, (some might consider me feral). I just really hate public events involving more than three people.
9.) I'm a published author, though not in the genre I had hoped to be (oopsie).
And... 10.) I hope people don't get cheesed at me for tagging them.

Aspirations: Love or Money? - LOVE. Though, I am with my sweetie of 21 years, so.... we could use a little more moolah, I just wouldn't trade one for the other, lol.
Senses: Blind or Deaf? - Uhhhh, deaf. I overdid it on chlorine in the pool when I was 10 and man it sucked not being able to see.
Climate: Cold or Hot? - Cold. I'm cranky when it's hot. TRUST ME.
Weather: Rain or Sun? - Can't have one without the other.
Drinks: Alcohol or not? - At times, sure. I mean, I make the stuff in my basement, lol (wine) not moonshine. That stuff will wilt your socks off your feet.
Computer: PC(laptop) or MAC? - Mac, mac, mac, mac, mac, mac.......did I say Mac?
Animals: Wolves or Kittens? - Dang. Can I say both? I mean, I like wolves, but they really belong outside, so... kittens. Equally fierce, just less howling.
Genre: Dracula or Darth Vader? - Hands down, Darthie all the way.
Activity: Walk or Run? - It used to be run, now it's walk.
Games: Board or console? - Both, absolutely both.

No, really, not that "evil" kind of payback. And I'm not saying I have quality payback payments made either, just feeling late-night appreciative.
I mean, I have mb's of donated images, patterns, brushes, inspiration, what-have you on-hand, thanks to people who see the value in making an artist living accessible, and I'm feeling sheepish and appreciative. Sometimes I feel like what I have to offer isn't comparable, and then I remember that even the oddest shot can be the one you just can't find and someone out there made it so freaking easy, unrestricted, uncredited, un-interuptive in the artistic flow that I can only hope something I
My Holiday Season present to Myself
This holiday season, I'm closing up "shop" earlier, so I can, ... well, play. Play for me is doing exactly what I call my work, only it's designing images because I want to.
I plan to use some of the images I've requested permission for, tagged, favourited, drooled over, for months now, and I'm going to post more stock on deviantart as well. I'm so excited.
I've been so busy with work projects that I haven't been able to "embetter" my craft, which I think is necessary. So, tutorials here I come!

I've had a bit of a bummer. A lot of my psd files have been lost due to me dropping my external hard drive on it's head. Apparently, it's the head that has separated and now the files can only be retrieved by a professional who might charge anywhere upwards from $600 but most likely the data recovery will cost $1000+. This, to say the least, has slowed me down quite a bit. I have opted to redo a lot of the psd files when the need arises, and I have a good number of my older ones. It's just my latest that I didn't back up during my crasiziest-busiest time (the worst time NOT to have backed up)
At this point, I don't have that kind of $. Does
My process when using Stock
It saddens me to see so many Deviant artists have had their work stolen, or are not credited for their work. I thought I'd explain my process, in case people have wondered why I've contacted them requesting permission to use their work, or where I've favorited their work, but never sent a link.
I design book covers mostly, both custom-made and pre-made. My favourite is pre-made because those are where I can be creative and I'm often inspired by looking at other artist's stock. I favourite images mainly because I can see something I'd like to create with it, or, because I just simply think it's fantastic, but most often I plan to return to th
